On January 28, 2010, Mom and I
attended the Girl Scouts of
Kentuckiana fourth annual Desserts First fundraiser. Louisville's finest restaurant chefs created original desserts using the well-known Girl Scout cookie varieties as the key ingredient and presented them for tasting at the Louisville Marriott Downtown. We sampled delicious, one-of-a-kind desserts created for the event. My favorite appetizer was from Bill's Gourmet Cheeses. My favorite dessert was a
tiramisu created by The White Oak, a new restaurant in the revitalized East Market Street arts corridor downtown.
The funds raised at the event went to Girl Scouts of Kentuckiana, which serves over 25,000 girls and 7,000 adult members in 64 countries of central and western Kentucky and southern Indiana. Girl Scouts is an organization I really believe in. I am a lifetime Girl Scout. I graduated from high school with my Girl Scout Silver Award, the second highest award available to Girl Scouts.
